«شجرة الدر» هو جزء من سلسلة تدخلات الواقع المعزز التي تستكشف الروابط بين العمارة التاريخية والتكنولوجيا.

إن تقديم قصص لنساء أقوياء يخلق نماذج يحتذى بها ويذكرنا بأن التاريخ مليء بمثلهن، على الرغم من أن قصصهن غالبًا ما يتم التقليل من شأنها ونسيانها. يذكرنا هذا المشروع، عن طريق استخدام النحت المعزز، بامرأة قوية في التاريخ المصري هي شجرة الدر، الحاكمة الوحيدة لمصر الإسلامية، والتي حكمت بمفردها. سيتم وضع قطعة النحت المعزز في القاهرة في مكان حول القلعة، حيث عاشت وحكمت ولقت مصرعها في صورة مأساوية، أو بالقرب من الضريح الذي شيدته لنفسها وتم تجديده مؤخرًا، ويحتوي على نقوش خاصة بها. النسخة الحالية للمشروع هي عبارة عن فيديو لتدخل الواقع المعزز، وأخطط في المستقبل لتطويره في سلسلة من التدخلات في عدة مواقع مختلفة.

Shajar al Durr is part of a series of augmented reality interventions that explores links between historical architecture and technology.

Bringing forth stories of powerful women creates role models and reminds us that history is full of powerful women, even though their stories are often downplayed and forgotten. Using an augmented sculpture, this project reminds us about a powerful woman in Egyptian history, Shajar al Durr, the only female ruler of Islamic Egypt who ruled in her own right. The augmented sculpture will be placed in Cairo at a location around the citadel where Shajar al Durr lived, ruled, and tragically died, or near the recently renovated mausoleum she had built for herself, which features her personal pattern. The current iteration of the project is a video of the augmented reality intervention; I plan to develop this into a series of interventions in several locations in the future.
